Day 1 :
Depart gateway city
If you have purchased only the Land/Cruise Program, please book flights that arrive on the first day of the Land/Cruise Program. The Land/Cruise Program dates appear at the top of your Reservation Confirmation.

Day 2 :
Prague, Czech Republic
Arrive at Václav Havel Airport Prague. Proceed through immigration to the baggage claim area and retrieve your luggage. After completing customs, AHI FlexAir passengers traveling on flights that qualify for the group arrival transfer and Land/Cruise Program passengers who have purchased seats on the group transfer should exit the baggage claim area and proceed to the designated meeting spot, where an AHI Travel representative will meet them. The meeting location will be provided with your final documents.

Transfer to Prague and check into the Art Deco Imperial Hotel Prague. Please note if you arrive at the hotel before check-in time, your room may not be immediately available.

After settling into your room, get acquainted with your fellow travelers at a Welcome Reception and Dinner.

Day 3 :
Enrichment: Velvet Revolution.
Learn about the Velvet Revolution, a pivotal event that led to the end of communism in Czechoslovakia and preceded the country’s split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Discovery: Old Town Prague.
Set out on a walking tour to see Prague’s rich array of magnificent buildings that reflect its evolution over eight centuries. See the Old Town Square, dominated by the spire-topped towers of the 14th-century Church of Our Lady before Tyn, and discover the area’s Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and baroque buildings.
Pause at the famous astronomical clock, which is more than 600 years old, to watch the wooden figures of the twelve Apostles appear on the hour. Walk along the acclaimed Charles Bridge, finished in 1400 and lined with 30 statues, commemorating saints and other religious figures.

Free Time: Make your own plans for lunch and sightseeing in Prague.

This afternoon, embark the intimate MS Elbe Princesse, outfitted with two modern paddlewheels at the stern, that will transport you right into the heart of cities and towns along the river.

Before dinner, meet and mingle with your fellow travelers at a Welcome cocktail hour. Then gather in the ship’s elegant dining room for a delicious Welcome Dinner.

Day 4 :
Personalize Your Cruise | Choose one of the following excursions.
• Prague Castle.
This sprawling castle, one of the largest ancient castle complexes in the world, has been the seat of Czech rulers since the ninth century. See the Castle Square, the Chapel of the Holy Cross, the Prague Castle Picture Gallery and the old Royal Palace. Step inside St. Vitus’ Cathedral, a Gothic landmark built in 1344 by Czech King Charles IV, and admire the exquisite St. Wenceslaus Chapel, decorated with gilded panels inset with Bohemian gems. Stroll charming Golden Lane, lined with colorful, tiny 16th-century homes once occupied by the castle’s guards, goldsmiths and servants.
• Prague’s Historic Jewish Quarter.
In Josefov, the former Jewish quarter, explore the original network of narrow streets and see the baroque Old New Synagogue, Europe’s oldest active synagogue, founded in 1270. Visit the Prague National Jewish Museum, comprised of four synagogues, a ceremonial hall and the Old Jewish Cemetery. Now a rich repository of Jewish history and artifacts, the museum endured tumultuous periods under Nazi and Communist rule. Walk among the timeworn and jumbled tombstones of the Old Jewish Cemetery, one of the oldest surviving Jewish cemeteries in the world. More than 12,000 tombstones are wedged inside its boundaries.

Day 5 :
From the spacious sun deck this morning, admire the quaint, serene scenery as the ship cruises toward Litomerice.

Discovery: Litomerice.
Wander through this enchanting city, founded in the 10th century and filled with colorful Gothic, Renaissance and baroque buildings.

Relax this afternoon as the ship continues cruising. Later tonight, enjoy entertainment onboard.

Day 6 :
Bad Schandau, Germany/Saxon Alps/Dresden
Wake up to the picturesque Saxon Alps this morning, as the ship sails through this scenic region so reminiscent of Switzerland, dotted with forested river banks, green meadows, red-roofed houses and towering rocky peaks.

Discovery: Saxon Alps.
Head into the Elbe Sandstone mountains and marvel at the unusually shaped, craggy formations created by water erosion millions of years ago. Gaze across this unique landscape from one of Europe’s largest hilltop fortresses, the Königstein Fortress, and stop for a closer look at the imposing and impressive Bastei formation.

Stand at the ship’s rail and delight in breathtaking views while the ship continues toward Dresden, where it will dock overnight.

Day 7 :
Personalize Your Cruise | Choose one of the following excursions.
• Dresden City Tour.
Begin with a panoramic tour to see the three grand castles near the Elbe; the “Blue Wonder,” a steel truss bridge completed in 1893; the chic Weisser Hirsch neighborhood and the elegant buildings along Koenigstrasse. In the Theaterplatz square, take a walking tour and stroll by the Zwinger, a complex of baroque buildings surrounded by pavilions, fountains and sculptures; the Royal Castle; and the Dresden Cathedral. Witness the Church of Our Lady, built in 1743 and ravaged by World War II bombings, now lovingly restored to its earlier baroque splendor. Conclude with a visit to the Old Master’s Gallery, featuring art by Rembrandt, Rubens, Vermeer and Italian legendaries Raphael, Titian and Botticelli.
• Dresden Old Town Culinary Tour.
Enjoy an engaging walking tour through Dresden’s beautiful old town area as your guide provides fascinating insights about its architecture and history. At stops along the way, taste wonderful Saxon culinary specialties that honor the region’s traditions.

After the morning excursions, return to the ship for lunch and cruise to Meissen.

Day 8 :
Personalize Your Cruise | Choose one of the following excursions.
In charming Wittenberg, Martin Luther preached, taught and married, and it was here that he led the Reformation. Both of today’s excursions include guided visits to two significant landmarks in his life. At the baroque Schlosskirche, 
or Castle Church, see the church door area where Luther nailed his 95 Theses, as well as his tomb below the pulpit. Continue to the Gothic Stadtkirche, or City Church, where Luther regularly preached.
• Wittenberg and Martin Luther.
After visiting the two churches, walk through the university where Luther taught and visit Luther House, his former home, now a museum with extensive exhibits chronicling the Reformation movement.
• Wittenberg, Luther and Brewery Tour.
After visiting the two churches, change your pace and head to the Brauhaus brewery, where you’ll learn about the brewing process and enjoy a tour and tasting.

Return to the ship and spend the afternoon cruising. The ship moors in Magdeburg this evening.

Day 9 :
Enrichment: Contemporary Germany.
Gain insights about life in a unified Germany today and its place within the European Union.

Discovery: Magdeburg.
Visit one of Germany’s oldest cities, home to the country’s first Gothic cathedral, the Cathedral of St. Mauritius and St. Katherine, where Emperor Otto I is buried.

Continue cruising toward Berlin.

Day 10 :
Enrichment: A Tale of Two Cities: East Berlin and West Berlin.
Once a divided city, Berlin was reunited after the infamous Berlin Wall was torn down in 1989. While now unified, elements of Berlin’s past still linger. Learn more about the lasting impact in its two former sectors.

Discovery: Berlin City Tour.
With a guide, see Berlin’s top sites, including the Brandenburg Gate, Pariser Platz, the Federal Chancellery, the elegant Unter den Linden boulevard and more. Drive on Kurfürstendamm, the leafy boulevard lined with exclusive shops, restaurants and cafés. Then glide along the Spree River on a canal boat and see the Reichstag, Berliner Dom and Museum Island, before disembarking in Tiergarten Park.

Free Time: Spend the afternoon at leisure in Berlin.

Tonight, gather with your fellow travelers for a festive farewell dinner onboard the ship.

Day 11 :
After breakfast, disembark the ship and check in to the Berlin Hilton.

Discovery: Potsdam.
Stroll through the stunning, terraced Sanssouci gardens, planned by Frederick the Great in 1743 as part of his summer retreat, where he could live sans souci or “without cares.” Visit the Cecilienhof Palace, designed in the style of a grand English country manor, that was home to the Prussian kings. It also famously served as the setting for the Potsdam Conference, where Truman, Churchill and Stalin met from July 17-August 2, 1945.

Free Time: Enjoy the remainder of your day and evening exploring in Berlin.
